Shikkui is a traditional Japanese plaster that has been widely used in Japan for over a thousand years, both internally and externally. It is an ingenious mix primarily of hydrated lime and calcium carbonate coming from natural additives such as reprocessed eggshells. The plaster can come in a range of naturally coloured finishes and textures to suit your decorative needs. Shikkui coatings are made of natural components, are humidity-regulating, fire-resistant, antistatic (preventing dust accumulation), hypoallergenic, antifungal and mold resistant.
